As you may be aware, this year marks the eighth Building the Foundation: Dairy and Veal Healthy Calf Conference (HCC), hosted by Veal Farmers of Ontario (VFO). This biennial event brings together dairy and veal producers, industry partners and leading experts in calf care management. The conference will be held in Stratford on November 27th and in Maxville on November 29th.
You are invited to attend Vet Night on Monday, November 26th at the Arden Park Hotel in Stratford, Ontario for an excellent evening focused on calf management. We have arranged for presentations geared specifically towards the challenges and opportunities that veterinarians face in practice:
- Michael Ballou, from Texas Tech University, will be discussing how good calf nutrition can play a major role in ensuring calf health.
- Dave Renaud, from the University of Guelph, will be discussing the value of producers and veterinarians working together to make calf health an important part of herd health.
- A round-table discussion facilitated by Dr. Renaud is back by popular demand. Discussion of what veterinarians are seeing on-farm, how veterinarians are working with clients on calf health issues, and how to encourage producers to bring veterinarians into the calf barn will result in some great insights into improving calf health and the Veterinarian-Client-Patient-Relationship (VCPR).
A strong VCPR is essential to raising healthy calves. When both veterinarians and producers have an opportunity to hear from the same expert speakers, on-farm conversations regarding how to implement new ideas are more productive. VFO understands that veterinarians are busy, and finding the time to attend the full HCC can be a challenge. This is why Vet Night was created. In just a few hours, veterinarians can network, enjoy a complimentary dinner, and learn about novel calf research.
Please join us for an evening of educational presentations tailored to bovine practitioners. The event is complimentary, but pre-registration is required. Enclosed, please find a draft agenda for the Vet Night. Also included is a registration form. You can also register online here. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are positive you will agree that our speakers have great messages for you to take back to your clients. We look forward to seeing you on November 26th at Vet Night. Please remember to complete and return your registration form no later than November 14th.
